Artificial Intelligence in Human Resource Management: Examining Employee Acceptance, Perceptions, and Workplace Outcomes in Indian IT Firms
Abstract
This study considers the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in the area of Human Resource Management at Indian Information Technology firms. This paper considers the acceptance, perceptions, and work outcomes due to the use of Artificial Intelligence in the process of Human Resource Management. It covers the impact of AI on recruiting, onboarding, learning, performance evaluation, engagement and administration. The research design used is quantitative. The Research Onion model served as guidance in selecting the methodology. The positivism philosophy helped to ensure objective research. The deductive paradigm was applied to test the relationship between Artificial Intelligence adoption and reactions of employees. The primary data were obtained via a Google Forms survey. The total sample size was 200 respondents, who were HR professionals from Indian IT firms. The data analysis was carried out with the help of SPSS and Microsoft Excel. The descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, chi-square, correlation and regression analysis were applied to analyse the data. The AI technologies helped in achieving personal learning, engaging employees, and improving HRM services. However, the employees had concerns over issues such as privacy of data, surveillance in the work environment, algorithmic biases, and lack of human interaction. These aspects affected the employees' trust and satisfaction in the use of AI technology. The results of this study show that there are numerous advantages of using AI in Human Resource Management for Indian IT companies. For the successful application of AI in HRM, ethical HR policies, employee training, transparency in AI, monitoring, and human decision-making are essential.
