A STUDY OF ATTITUDE TOWARDS TEACHING PROFESSION AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN RELATION TO THEIR LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOUR
Abstract
An attitude is a positive, negative, or mixed evaluation of an object expressed at some level of intensity. It is an expression of a favorable or unfavorable evaluation of a person, place, thing or event. These are fundamental determinants of our perceptions of and actions towards all aspects of our social environment. Attitude involves a complex organization of evaluative beliefs, feelings and tendencies towards certain actions. How much we like or dislike something that determines our behaviour towards that thing. In the present study researcher wants to study about the relationship of attitude towards teaching profession and leadership behavior among secondary school teachers. According to the nature and need of the study descriptive survey method was employed. In the present study data was collected through Attitude scale towards teaching Profession developed and standardized by Dr. (Mrs.) Umme Kulsum (Bangalore), and Leadership behaviour scale developed and standardized by Dr. Asha Hinger. A sample of 120 teachers from different schools of Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana were selected by random sampling technique. A Positive and significant correlation between attitude towards teaching profession and leadership behaviour of secondary school teachers was found.
