Abstract

Microfinance may be conceptualized as the accessibility of monetary offering to the neglected section of the society who does not have any accessibility of funds. Microfinance provides working capital loans to entrepreneurs through which they can start their own business. It helps to create employment not only to entrepreneurs but also generates employment opportunities to others too. Banks are not best suited to offer microfinance since they do not take a long-term view; do not offer non-financial services such as training; and lack the combined qualitative and quantitative approach that is unique to microfinance institutions
