Abstract

The health problem and practices of a society are often influenced by the interaction of its
socio-economic, environmental as well as political factors. A holistic perspective enables us
to perceive how common beliefs, customs and practices are connected with health & disease
and ultimately determined the health seeking behavior of a community environmental
factors especially ecological factors sometimes have a profound influence on health (chaubey,
R 2001)
