Abstract

Floating exchange rate is the major cause of currency fluctuation rather than fixed exchange rate. As appreciation (increase in value of domestic currency) and depreciation (decrease in the value of domestic currency) is not allowed under fixed exchange rate. Interest rate differentials which affect capital flow, inflation, merchandise trade are the numerous factors affecting the exchange rate.
